The Johns Family...Est 2012

I guess it's about time to update the name of this blog. After all, I am hardly a world traveler anymore and a few other things have happened lately...

For instance, we finally got our wedding pictures. Yay! And since I am rejoining the blogging world I'll go ahead and share a few of my favorites. Just as a warning, "a few" may turn out to be more than that. But when you have 763 pictures to choose from it's a hard game to pick your favorites...

That will do for now. If you want to see the other 755, you just let me know.

Couldn't Say Goodbye

Yes, I am rejoining the world of blogging. I would like to apologize to the nine of you (probably less now) who follow my blog for my absence. Life, turns out, gets busy. I'll try to be better.

Recently Dan and I have decided to move to Albuquerque to save some money before grad school for him. After we sold our contract, we looked around our apartment to see what else we could sell. I agreed that it was time to let my lovesac go and we listed it on Craigslist. A couple came to look at at it last night and was very interested. Suddenly I became very nostalgic. I made Dan watch a movie with me on it last night and this morning I came out to say goodbye. I just couldn't do it. This thing has been with me almost all of my college career. Silly you say to be so attached to a piece of furniture? I agree, but nonetheless, Dan texted the couple to let them no it was no longer available. Good thing he loves me and thinks my ridiculous antics are cute. But really, let's look back on all the good times...

No fort would be complete without it.

Yes, there is a lovesac under there.

A little Guitar Hero.

And of course, lovesac jumping.

Avatar vs. FernGully

I was one of the three people in America who did not see Avatar in the theater. I had zero desire to see it. Even after friends would rave about the magical world of Pandora and the incredible CGI. Zero desire. Well, Avatar happens to be one of Dan's favorite movies, so one night I caved. Fine. He watches enough chick flicks with me that I figured I should do him the favor of watching a movie he likes (although he likes chick flicks so I don't think it was really fair). Anyway, I have to say that after all the refusals to see this movie...I hated it. It may have had something to do with the fact that it was a Friday night and I was exhausted from the week of waking up at 5:15 every day, but I hated it. Even worse, was that I kind of felt like it had stolen it's plot from FernGully. I received only blank stares from Dan and his roommate when I mentioned this. FernGully? Really? Did you not watch that as a kid? Because I did, all the time. So, I did some research to make sure I wasn't the only one who felt this way, and came across this little gem...

You can draw your own conclusions on the similarities and differences between these two movies. But, cute guy meets a scantily clad fairy, lies to her about who he really is so he can destroy her world, falls in love, the rainforest wins...I dunno, seems a little iffy to me...

Teach Me How to Loogie

How to hock a loogie. This is a skill I am in serious need of. I have had this cold for a week and a half. I can feel the mucus in my throat. Coughing brings it up, but not quite far enough to get it out. I just think a good loogie would clean in all out. Dan claims he can hock a loogie. He can show me  but he's terrible at explaining it. Google isn't much better. If anyone out there can help me, I would love you forever.

Love Them Both

I know, I'm the worst blogger ever. I can't believe it's been since June that I've blogged. Blame it on a little website called Pinterest. It is slowly taking over every facet of my life. But then Tiff shared this little gem with me and in honor of the Australian Open starting in 3 days, I thought I would pass it along...

Reason #714 Why My Mom Rocks

My mom and my sister-in-law came to visit me last week and brought my darling niece along with them. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures to document, but I'm 110% sure that my mom did. Anyway, my mom loves me so she likes to bring me things when she comes and visits. This was the latest addition...

I was pretty pleased with how the final product turned out, although next time I won't display it on this plate. But still, pretty awesome. Thanks Mom!

If You Ain't Dirrrty

You are so not here to party. And we were there to party. Running/walking a 5k through mud and obstacles? Yes, please.

Pre race. Us and the Biebs.
Getting ready to cross the finish line.

Post race. We weren't allowed to get as close to the Biebs in this one.

And for those of you who want to actually experience the race with us...
